On the Way Home
Well, today's the day! The mission team will be back in the States at around nine tonight. Apparently the trip went great, and the team has many many stories. My parents will be back in knoxville at three tomorrow morning. Its gonna be a long night, considering that they are getting up and going to church tomorrow.
Even though they are looking forward to getting home, they are both torn about having to leave Valancia down there. Please pray for them so that instead of focusing on having to leave her, they can focus on the day they get to bring her home.

Update 8/19/09
Hey everyone!
I never got to talk to my parents last night. They called the house while I was at youth. From what I heard from my grandparents though, everything is great. Grandmom and Grandad, got to speak to Valancia for the first time though, and they said it was a great experience. She called them Granmama and Granpapa. Hopefully I will get to talk to them tonight, but just know that everyone is doing great.
Trip Update 2/18/09
Hey Everyone!
I got to talk to my mom at about 10 on tuesday night. She sounded great. She said that she got to walk around Coq Chante village and meet the villagers. She told me that the poverty was like nothing that she had ever expected, even after my dad and I had talked about it for so long. Today Valancia had to leave Coq Chante and go to Jacmel, where her parents will say in front of a judge that they release all parental rights to Valancia. That's where my mom's motherly nature probably drove her crazy, because she cannot even fathom how a parent could be able to do something like that. However, she sounded great on the phone, but I know that that was bothering her a little. My mom talked for so long on the phone that they ran out of minutes and I didn't even get to speak with my dad, but she said he is doing great. I can already tell that they are both filled up with stories to tell, and I cannot wait to hear them all.

Haiti Mission Update- 2/16/09
Hey everyone,
This is Cody. In case you didn't know, both of my parents are in Haiti right now and will be there till Saturday. My mom and Valancia bonded as soon as they saw each other, and when I talked to them they were all three out on the roof of the orphanage looking at the stars. So, as you can tell, things are going great! Be sure to check here daily for updates on the trip!
-Cody Z.
